Of late, many TV stars are entering the microdrama space. Karan Mehra believes it is tough as you need to capture the audience's attention in under two minutes. He tells Variety India, “It sharpens an actor’s craft because you’re telling a full emotional arc in a compressed format. As an actor you can be part of multiple stories thus playing more characters. Microdramas are the fastest way today for an actor to stay relevant, visible and creatively sharp.”
At the centre of the microdrama is a woman, who gets caught in the fraud. As the extortionists blackmail her, the family rallies towards fighting cyber fraud. Karan further told us, “What really drew me to the story was that it’s women driven, but not in a forced way. It’s organic, powerful and rooted in reality. We’re living in a time where online scams, identity theft, and financial frauds are affecting everyday people. The story doesn’t just entertain, it creates awareness. Shows vulnerability of victims, psychological impact, encourages caution and responsibility.” The microdrama will come on TukTuki platform from April 21 and also stars Poojaa Singh and Ipsitaa Jena.
