‘The Traitors’ Season Two Winners Krystle D’Souza And Rida Tharana On Why The Series Is Survival Of The Fittest (EXCLUSIVE)

What made you say yes to ‘The Traitors’ Season 2?
Rida Tharana: At first I said no but then my manager literally didn’t let me breathe. My little brother wanted me to do it. There was another reason behind taking this up. My aunt loves reality TV from “Bigg Boss” and “Roadies” to even “Splitsvilla.” I grew up watching her enjoy such shows. She passed away last year and  she would have loved seeing her girl is in a reality show. I agreed for these reasons.

Krystle: I knew from day one that this show is my cup of tea. I always wanted to be a traitor whenever I watched the global version of the show. Even in real life, you put me in any situation but I know how to come out of it.

Did Rida surprise you on ‘The Traitors’ Season Two?

Krystle: What was not there to be impressed about Rida. She  had valid points. Rida would make mental notes on why X person would be a traitor and she was usually bang on.

How would you rate Karan Johar as a host?
Rida: Amazing. I was in awe of his outfits and jewellery all the time. At the end of the show, he said, “I know it has been hard for you because I've been seeing you play the game. But just letting you know that you both have done an exceptional job.” 

Krystle: I love fashion. For me, seeing Karan Johar in his looks every day was like, wow, this is amazing. He knows everything about who is the traitor and who is innocent. But to keep that straight face, break those frames with those dialogues and all. It is epic.

Contestants like Munawar Faruqui and Abhishek Malhan said some people on “The Traitors” played the game like “Bigg Boss” eliminating names based on their popularity?

Rida: I think keeping yourself bigger than the game is very narcissistic, at least for me. It is unfair that just because you have followers outside, they don't eliminate you. As a game, I think it was a smart move. You thought that person was a threat and you took them out. If traitors had to win, they had to take people who thought them as a threat.This feels like you are keeping yourself above the game and being like you survived only because we were out. If you were that good, you too would have survived. 

Krystle: I don’t think anybody took this show as any other show but “Traitors.” This show is about mind games, manipulation, and is way more than just a captive reality show. 
Rida: This is about your convincing power. Krystle is the prime example of how many times people have got at her and she still somehow was a cat with nine lives and survived. So, I will not take reasoning otherwise. It does not matter what you have outside. In the palace, you and I are players who have come here to use our brain just to see who can survive the longest. It's the survival of the fittest.
