Munawar Faruqui On His Early Exit From ‘The Traitors’ Season 2: ‘They Forgot It Is Not ‘Bigg Boss’ (EXCLUSIVE)
Munawar Faruqui was the first contestant to be eliminated from “The Traitors” Season 2. He tells Variety India that he was offered season one but had to let go due to previous date commitments. This time, he accepted it because everything aligned in his favor. He says, “As a game show, ‘The Traitors’ is a very grand one. The whole format is filmed in ten days. I was out of the show in just two days but no stress (laughs).”

The stand-up comedian-actor-entrepreneur reveals how he heard his co-contestants discuss him frequently on the show. He says, “They were like Munawar is running the game. I was talking to everyone on the show. They planned against me behind my back, which is against the format of the show. The idea of the series is to find ‘The Traitor’ in a given screen time. I felt the issue was that they had seen the show and knew the set pattern. They also failed to understand that this is not ‘Bigg Boss.' In this show, they have to catch the traitor and not target contestants because they are strong. They knew that I was not a traitor but their insecurities won over.”
He further explains how tough it is to play in a group in “The Traitors,” saying, “ There is no game if you sit in a group and there is a traitor in the midst of it. How do you know that everyone in your group is innocent? I felt it is stupid to look at a contestant’s face and decide if he is innocent or a traitor.”
Faruqui says that his stint on “Lock:Upp” helped him immensely to gain newer audiences. He states, “I think I gave my hundred per cent. The show was made up of celebrities and I stood out strongly. I am happy to have been a part of two reality shows and won both of them.”
