Jasmine Bhasin On What Brings Her Back To ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’ And Her Latest Punjabi Film, ‘Judaa’ (EXCLUSIVE)
Currently on a break between projects, actor Jasmine Bhasin, is part of “Khatron Ke Khiladi 15,” marking her third appearance on the show. “Judaa,” her latest Punjabi film opposite new actor Gulab Sidhu, just released. Bhasin, who debuted in Punjabi cinema with “Honeymoon” (2022), says the experience of working with Sidhu was a “great” one. Calling Sidhu a “very dedicated actor,” she notes that “this was the first time I was paired with a hero who is a newcomer. So far, my movies were with established names like Gippy Grewal.
She opines that the competition in the Punjabi film industry is no less than Hindi cinema or the South. The “Judaa” actress says, “It is tough everywhere because the talent pool is huge.” Talking about competition, Bhasin reflects, “I am a very content person. I have always believed that what is meant for me will come to me. The only thing I believe in is that people should have a nice experience working with you.”
The “Tashan-E-Ishq” actress adds, “I did my first film, ‘Honeymoon’ with Gippy (Grewal) and he gave me more opportunities. Same with the team of ‘Judaa’, we are in talks for one more project. Yes, it is difficult to get work but if you are hard-working enough, you get more chances.”

This is her third time on “Khatron…” and Bhasin suffered a concussion this season that led to a temporary memory loss on the show. While audiences have had mixed reactions to her performance, she reveals why she cannot refuse the reality show. She says, “Nothing comes close to ‘Khatron’ because of the stunts the team designs. Their safety standards are top-notch. You have to be fearless and face your fears. Every time I return from the show I come back as a more confident and stronger performer. I have some great memories because of Rohit Shetty. I also met Aly (Goni) on the show. It is just too special.”
Talking further about her bond with Shetty, Bhasin adds, “When my movie, ‘Ardaas Sarbat De Bhale Di’ came out two years ago, he launched the trailer in Mumbai. It was such a wonderful gesture from him. He also came for the screening. So, he is there to support me when needed.”
Bhasin began her acting career with Krish Jagarlamudi’s Tamil film “Vaanam” (2011). Considering how many North Indian actresses work in South movies, is she contemplating a return to her roots? “I was very young when I did ‘Vaanam.’ I got the break by luck. The industry is very different and I was too young. I failed to fit in there. I really failed to understand how it works. Maybe it was my age or the absence of a mentor. So, I moved to Mumbai and transitioned to TV as I was familiar with the language,” she states.
Bhasin says she’d love to explore more South films now. “I am a proper actor now (laughs). I was a child then and did not even know where the light or camera was. Whatever the language and platform, I would love to explore any good opportunity. Going back to the South would be like finishing one circle of life,” she reflects.
Whether it was her honest confession about being molested as a kid on “Bigg Boss 14” to breaking down on “KKK15,” her emotional personality has got its share of criticism. Bhasin does not mince her words and says, “If you are on a reality show, you are not supposed to have a fake personality. I have always been very comfortable with who I am and with my personality. If I know I have flaws, I would not like to cover them up. Showing your sensitive side is a strength, not a weakness. If there's something that bothers you, always be vocal about it. Holding on to emotions is only going to block you. And I don't believe in blocking energy.”
Her relationship with Aly Goni has always been under the media glare, with every small detail of their lives being dissected. Bhasin reaffirms that if a couple is secure and confident in their relationship, there is no need to fret over external factors. “At the end of the day, what goes on in our hearts is just between the two of us. We know that we are public figures and hence, we get this attention. I always believe in focusing on the brighter side of things,” she concludes.
