The teaser trailer for “The Greatest,” the first authorized scripted series based on the life of boxing icon Muhammad Ali, was unveiled by Prime Video. It dives straight into the heavy stuff that documentaries usually miss, focusing heavily on the man’s personal life between the high-profile fights.

The thrilling teaser trailer opens on an incredibly raw note with a young Cassius Clay staring down his own reflection. He delivers a rhythmic, self-motivating speech to the mirror, chanting, "I'm the fastest, I'm the strongest, I can't be beat, I'm going to be the youngest heavyweight champion ever." As he speaks, the intensity and volume steadily rise to a crescendo. The clip then cuts into a fast-paced montage of his historic bouts, exhausting gym practice sessions, family dynamics and the personal highs and lows that shaped his iconic status.
This first season captures a pivotal four-year window, starting in 1960 when a young Clay wins Olympic gold and running through to his historic 1964 heavyweight title victory. It was one of the most stunning upsets in boxing history, where the young Cassius Clay famously "floated like a butterfly and stung like a bee," forcing Sonny Liston to quit on his stool before the start of the seventh round.
Jaalen Best takes on the monumental role of Ali, anchoring an incredible cast. He is joined by Omari Hardwick and Dana Gourrier as his parents, Cassius Sr. and Odessa "Bird" Clay. Kai Parham plays his brother Rudy, while Amin Joseph steps into the ring as rival Sonny Liston and Michael Ealy portrays the legendary Malcolm X.
The project boasts massive creative backing from Ben Watkins’ Blue Monday Productions and Michael B. Jordan’s Outlier Society, alongside Authentic Studios, Roc Nation, Polygram Entertainment, and Grace: A Storytelling Company. Most notably, Ali's widow, Lonnie Ali, serves as an executive producer, granting the creators unprecedented access to his true legacy.
“The Greatest” streams on November 4.
