Ranveer Singh to Begin “Pralay” Shoot Next Month, Plans Paternity Break From Diwali (EXCLUSIVE)
Variety India has learned that Ranveer Singh is set to begin filming “Pralay” next month. The “Dhurandhar” actor will shoot the zombie thriller directed by Jai Mehta until Diwali, after which production will pause as he will take paternity leave. The second schedule is expected to begin in 2027. Jai Mehta has also co-written the film's screenplay with Vishal Kapoor, whose credits include “Lootere.”
Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone, who tied the knot in 2018 in Italy, welcomed their daughter Dua in September 2024. The couple has largely kept their daughter away from the public eye, sharing only occasional glimpses of their journey as parents while maintaining a degree of privacy in their family life. They announced their second pregnancy with a joint post on Instagram in April. It featured a picture of their daughter, Dua, holding a positive pregnancy test kit. Padukone is currently in the third trimester of her pregnancy.

Further details surrounding “Pralay”, including its major cast and production timeline, remain under wraps. The film is expected to be Singh’s next major big-screen project following “Dhurandhar,” which proved to be a box office juggernaut. “Dhurandhar” released on December 5, 2025, while its sequel, “Dhurandhar: The Revenge,” released on March 19, 2026.
Padukone, meanwhile, has a busy slate of her own. She recently completed a schedule for Siddharth Anand’s “King,” in which she reunites with her “Jawan” co-star Shah Rukh Khan. She will also be seen in Atlee’s ambitious sci-fi action film “Raaka,” headlined by “Pushpa” actor Allu Arjun.
