“Heated Rivalry” breakout star Connor Storrie could be heading to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with the actor reportedly in talks to play the villain opposite Ryan Gosling in the upcoming “Ghost Rider” film.

Shawn Levy, known for directing blockbuster films, is set to helm the project, with Jonathan Tropper, the screenwriter behind “Star Wars: Starfighter”, penning the script. Marvel has scheduled “Ghost Rider” for release on July 28, 2028, with production expected to begin in New York next year. "Dune Part 3‘s" Linus Sandgren has been hired as director of photography and the project will shoot on film, according to sources.

Levy and Gosling will produce the film alongside Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito and Stephen Broussard. Richie Palmer and Jessie Henderson are attached as executive producers.

For Storrie, the potential casting marks another major step following his rapid rise to fame. The Texas-born actor became a pop culture sensation playing Russian hockey star Ilya Rozanov in “Heated Rivalry”, the romantic drama centred on the secret relationship between rival hockey players Ilya and Shane Hollander, played by Hudson Williams.

Before landing the role that transformed his career, Storrie was working as a waiter at Laurel Grill in Culver City. Since then, his growing profile has opened doors to other high-profile opportunities, including a guest-hosting appearance on “Saturday Night Live” that earned him a Primetime Emmy nomination. He is also set to appear opposite singer and actor Billie Eilish in Sarah Polley’s adaptation of “The Bell Jar” for Focus Features.

Meanwhile, anticipation is building for the second season of “Heated Rivalry”, which is currently filming and is scheduled to premiere on HBO Max next spring. The new season will continue exploring the complicated romance between Ilya and Shane.

Storrie is represented by CAA, Linden Entertainment, Shelter PR and Yorn Levine.
