‘Awarapan 2’ Trailer: Emraan Hashmi Returns As Shivam Pandit For A Gritty Tale Of Revenge
Nineteen years after playing Shivam Pandit, Emraan Hashmi is back to finish what he started. Vishesh Films has finally dropped the trailer for “Awarapan 2,” plunging audiences back into a dark world of vengeance and redemption. Slated for a worldwide theatrical release on August 14, 2026, the film promises plenty of visceral close combat, intense gunfire and the kind of brooding antihero energy that made the original a cult classic.
This time around, Shivam appears older, heavily scarred and burdened by everything left unresolved from his past. Hashmi fits right back into the skin of the character, bringing a weathered intensity that makes it feel like no time has passed at all. Joining him in this gritty universe is Disha Patani as Zara, introducing a fresh emotional dynamic to the franchise. Shabana Azmi commands the screen as Nafisa, while an ensemble including Puran Gabbi as Zorawar, Anirudh Rawal as Sikandar, Surendar Vicky as Jaideep, Vijayant Kohli as Mehmood and Atul Kumar as Samarth round out the cast.

The trailer kicks off on a dramatic note, with “Tera Mera Rishta” playing as Emraan Hashmi is seen tied up and hanging in the pouring rain as a cluster of ruthless gangsters looks on. Shabana Azmi slowly walks up to him, casually admiring his face before taunting him about his obsession with courting death. As the promo shifts into high gear, a voiceover from Emraan reminds everyone that he and death share a very long-standing relationship, and he still has a massive debt to pay off. What follows is a relentless montage of Shivam beating enemies to a pulp through sharp close combat, reckless stunts and heavy gunplay. He wraps up the trailer with a chill-inducing question to a group of thugs, asking if they would prefer to die one by one or all together.
While the trailer leaves no stone unturned in making its lead hero look like an absolute powerhouse, the real test will be whether the story can match that level of style and adrenaline. Fans have waited nearly two decades to see Shivam Pandit back in action, and if this preview is anything to go by, August 14 is going to be one loud, violent night at the movies.
