‘Welcome To The Jungle’ Cleared With 18 Cuts; CBFC Removes Kashmir Reference And Modifies Disha And Jacqueline Bikini Scenes
The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has officially cleared the upcoming comedy 'Welcome To The Jungle' with a U/A 16+ certificate, but only after ordering a massive sweep of alterations. The makers were required to implement a total of 18 cuts, forcing significant revisions to both the film's verbal dialogue and its visual sequences before securing theatrical approval.
On the dialogue front, the Censor Board clamped down heavily on potentially sensitive, political, or crude language. A line mentioning the "Paani of Kashmir" was completely excised, alongside the removal of the phrase "desh ki tatti". The board also targeted military terminology, swapping "Gorkha Regiment" for "Tum army se ho?" and systematically replacing the title "General" with "Officer" or "Sir" throughout the movie.

Several other comedic lines were rewritten to tone down their impact. The dialogue "Kaala paida hua hai, koyla hai" was altered to "saadah paida hua hai, namoona hua hai", while "Yaad karo kurbani, munh mein bhar lo paani" became "Jo shaheed hone ja raha tha, uske munh mein bhar lo paani". Additionally, the word "andha" was substituted with "dheela", the phrase "Izzat le lo" was modified to "Yeh aapke saath jaane ko...", and the name "Azarudden" was switched to "Allaudin". The word "screwed" was also swapped out in two instances, and a 10-second scene featuring the phrase "na diya" was cut entirely.

The visual deletions were equally extensive, focusing primarily on toning down the film's glamour quotient during a song sequence. The official cut list states that the filmmakers had to delete and replace sensual bikini visuals, close-up shots of women's hips, and specific hip-movement choreography wherever they occurred in the tracks. The report explicitly highlights that sensual frames featuring leading ladies Disha Patani and Jacqueline Fernandez were removed from the final print. Furthermore, a visual featuring a vulgar hand gesture was omitted and covered up with a close-up shot of actor Vindu Dara Singh.
Despite the high volume of modifications, the movie remains quite lengthy. According to the official censor certificate, "Welcome To The Jungle" has been locked at a final runtime of 164.50 minutes, which translates to a theatrical duration of 2 hours, 44 minutes, and 50 seconds.
