After receiving a phenomenal response in pre-advance sales, “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” is going berserk on its opening day (Thursday) at the box office. The superhero movie registered record-breaking occupancy in the morning shows across the country.
In fact, the film is giving a tough fight to “Avengers: Endgame,” the biggest Hollywood opener in India, which collected Rs 53 crore on its opening day.
Ramesh Bala, industry tracker from Chennai, shares, “Occupancy is about 90-100% in most of the places, including North India, Tamil Nadu and Kerala. In Telugu states, it may be around 70-80%.” He also speaks about the possibility of “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” surpassing “Avengers: Endgame. “It is going neck-to-neck right now. So, depending on how the evening and night shows go, it can overtake 'Endgame'.” He also predicts that the film has a chance of collecting Rs 200 crore in its extended first weekend.

While occupancy in the Hindi circuits is marginally low in comparison to “Avengers: Endgame,” “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” has registered higher numbers in the southern circuits. With the craze of “The Odyssey” having slowed down, the webhead movie has all the chances to shatter new records at the Indian box office.
Unlike the first three parts, which were helmed by Jon Watts, “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, known for “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.”
Apart from Tom Holland, the movie stars Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal, Tramell Tillman, Michael Mando and Mark Ruffalo in prominent roles. It is written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers.
Talking about “Bhai Tera Star Hai,” another release from Hindi cinema starring Raghav Juyal, has opened with very low occupancy numbers between 6-10%. With the dominance of “Spider-Man: Brand New Day,” the Hindi release will hardly have any chance to work at the box office.
