Rajinikanth’s ‘Jailer 2’ Surpasses ‘Jailer’ To Become The Biggest Tamil Grosser At The North American Box Office
Rajinikanth continues to show his dominance outside India, besides doing extraordinary numbers in the domestic market. The actor’s latest flick “Jailer 2,” which is already the highest Tamil grosser of all time, has now emerged as the biggest Tamil hit in North America.
With the current collections of $7.41 million (₹70.58 crore), the movie has surpassed its prequel ($7.25 million) to become the biggest hit in the North American market.
Interestingly, out of the top 10 Tamil grossers in the circuit, six films belong to Rajinikanth, showcasing his fandom there.

With Suriya’s “Scene” and Nayanthara’s “Mookuthi Amman 2” arriving on November 6, “Jailer 2” has seven days to enjoy a free run at the ticket windows, especially in Tamil Nadu.

The film currently stands at ₹755.50 crore at the global box office and is expected to cross the ₹800 crore mark by the end of its third weekend.
It also features Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Mirnaa, Rithvik, S. J. Suryah, Mithun Chakraborty, Suraj Venjaramoodu and Vidya Balan in pivotal roles. Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, who also helmed the first part, the Rajinikanth-starrer is produced by Kalanithi Maran under his banner, Sun Pictures.
Like its prequel, it features cameos from Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, and Jackie Shroff, with Hrithik Roshan and Vijay Sethupathi joining them.
The album for "Jailer 2" is composed by Anirudh Ravichander, with the cinematography and editing done by Vijay Kartik Kannan and R. Nirmal, respectively.
