Raghav Juyal Joins Cast of ‘Ramayana’ (EXCLUSIVE)

From his "DID" and "Dance Plus" days on television to building a full-fledged acting career in films, Raghav Juyal has come a long way. Last year's "Bads of Bollywood" pushed him further into the spotlight, making him a sought-after name for multiple projects. Taking a significant leap forward, Raghav has now bagged the biggest film of his career yet.

Variety India has exclusively learned that Raghav has joined the cast of Nitesh Tiwari's most-anticipated "Ramayana." He has been brought on board to play the role of Meghanad (also referred to as Indrajit), the eldest son of Ravana and the crown prince of Lanka. His character will feature in "Ramayana Part 2," which is currently scheduled for a Diwali 2027 release.

The role was initially supposed to be played by Vikrant Massey, but things apparently didn't work out. Raghav was subsequently approached, and he immediately came on board. He is expected to start filming his portions once he has recovered from his injury.

In "Ramayana," Meghanad is regarded as one of the greatest warriors and one who played a major role in the epic war between Lord Rama and Ravana. Legends describe him as possessing extraordinary powers on the battlefield, including the ability to fight from the sky while remaining concealed behind clouds. He is also remembered as the only warrior in the entire Ramayana to defeat both Lord Rama and Lakshman twice before he was finally killed by Lakshman.

Billed as the biggest-ever Indian film production, "Ramayana" stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as goddess Sita, KGF star Yash as Ravana, Ravi Dubey as Lakshman and Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman. The pan-India ensemble cast also includes Lara Dutta (as Kaikeyi), Rakul Preet Singh (as Surpanakha), Arun Govil (as King Dashrath), Indira Krishnan (as Queen Kaushalya), Sheeba Chaddha (as Manthara), Adinath Kothare (as Bharat), and Kunal Kapoor (as Lord Indra), among others. Vijay Sethupathi is also rumored to be part of the film, though this remains to be confirmed.

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra's Prime Focus Studios in association with Yash's Monster Mind Creations, "Ramayana" tells the classic tale of good over evil. Filmed in IMAX with cutting-edge visual effects, this two-part saga aims to bring the epic Rama–Ravana story to global audiences in the most ambitious way. The first part of the film is scheduled to release in theaters during Diwali weekend this year, while the second chapter will hit cinemas on Diwali 2027.

The first look of the film is expected to be unveiled on Ram Navami on March 27, 2026, at a grand event in Mumbai, though the makers haven't yet officially confirmed this.
