October, marked by festive occasions such as Navratri and Dussehra, proved a strong month for the Indian box office, with theatrical collections surpassing the ₹1,000 crore mark. While popular sequels led the charge, small and mid-budget movies also contributed to the collections.
Hindi
Among Hindi releases, Ajay Devgn’s “Drishyam: The Conclusion” emerged as the biggest contributor, collecting ₹377.90 crore. Other releases, including “Udta Teer,” “Prahaar: The Untold Story of Ujjwal Nikam” and “Nayi Naveli,” also chipped in, adding to the month’s overall box office tally.
Tamil
Rajinikanth’s “Jailer 2” dominated the Tamil box office with a massive ₹459.70 crore. Vijay Sethupathi’s “Baththa” also performed well, earning ₹30.23 crore. Apart from these two prominent releases, “Sigma” and “Anbil Avan” also made their presence felt through pre-release buzz.

Kannada
October proved rewarding for the Kannada industry, largely due to the blockbuster business of “Premada Oorali.” While the movie released in the last week of September, it picked up in October and raked in ₹111.47 crore at the ticket windows.
Telugu
It was a disappointing month for the Telugu industry as films like “Ranabaali” and “Don’t Trouble The Trouble” failed in the domestic market. However, the biographical drama “Garividi Lakshmi,” based on the life of a folk singer who helped popularize the folk songs of Uttarandhra in the 1990s, was a box-office success thanks to its low budget and strong regional performance in North Andhra.
Malayalam
Like Telugu, the Malayalam industry also faced a rough October, with much-anticipated films like “Titans,” “The Third Murder” and “Original” failing to draw in audiences.
