Netflix India’s Lust Stories Returns with a Third Season, Cast and Directors Locked (EXCLUSIVE)

Netflix India is coming with a third chapter of Lust Stories. The streaming platform has brought on board a fresh set of acclaimed filmmakers Vikramaditya Motwane (Lootera), Shakun Batra (Kapoor & Sons), Kiran Rao (Laapataa Ladies) and Vishal Bhardwaj (Haider) to tell four distinct and compelling new stories, each delving into the themes of love, lust, power and societal status.

Variety India has exclusively learned that Lust Stories 3 features a robust cast, comprising prominent Bollywood names. Radhika Apte and Konkona Sen Sharma headline Motwane’s film, while Batra’s short has Ali Fazal and Radhika Madan playing the lead roles. Kiran Rao’s segment features Gurfateh Pirzada and newbie Sana Thampi, whereas Vishal Bhardwaj's short features Aditi Rao Hydari in the lead. Filming for all the shorts has been completed, with post-production currently underway for a mid-2026 premiere. The anthology is being produced by Ronnie Screwvala and Ashi Dua under their respective banners, RSVP Movies and Flying Unicorn Entertainment.

Lust Stories series has been critically acclaimed for its bold exploration of female sexuality through diverse and thought-provoking stories. The first edition was directed by Anurag Kashyap, Zoya Akhtar, Karan Johar and Dibakar Banerjee and featured an ensemble including Vicky Kaushal, Radhika Apte, Kiara Advani, Bhumi Pednekar, Manisha Koirala, Neha Dhupia and Akash Thosar among others. The second installment of the anthology, which premiered in 2023, starred Tamannnaah Bhatia, Mrunal Thakur, Kajol, Vijay Varma, Angad Bedi, Tillotama Shome, Amruta Subhash and Neena Gupta in short stories helmed by Konkona Sen Sharma, R. Balki, Sujoy Ghosh and Amit Ravindernath Sharma.

Lust Stories 3 will mark Netflix India's first anthology to have three seasons. The OTT platform has made several anthologies, such as Ray, Feels Like Ishq, Ajeeb Daastaans, Ankahi Kahaniya and Ghost Stories, but none of them have seen renewals. Meanwhile, Netflix India is set to unveil its 2026 slate at a grand event today evening.
