Here’s a look at every book adaptation coming out in November 2026 across theaters and streaming.

In Theaters

The Cat in the Hat (November 6)

“The Cat in the Hat” is an animated reimagining of the beloved red-and-white-striped top-hat-wearing Dr. Seuss character. Voiced by Bill Hader, the Cat works for the Institute for the Institution of Imagination and Inspiration, and is assigned to cheer up two siblings who have just moved to a new town. The voice cast includes Matt Berry, Quinta Brunson, Xochitl Gomez, Giancarlo Esposito, America Ferrera, Bowen Yang and more, and is written and directed by Alessandro Carloni and Erica Rivinoja. The animation has been provided by DNEG, which has also worked on “The Odyssey” and “Ramayana.”

Wildwood (November 12)

The stop-motion animated fantasy film from director Travis Knight is based on Colin Meloy’s 2011 novel of the same name and is illustrated by his wife, Carson Ellis. Slated for an October release, the film will now release theatrically in November in India. Produced by the acclaimed stop-motion animation studio, Laika, “Wildwood” follows teens Prue McKeel (Peyton Elizabeth Lee) and her classmate, Curtis (Jacob Tremblay), as they venture into an enchanted forest named Wildwood after Prue’s brother is kidnapped. The voice cast includes Carey Mulligan, Mahershala Ali, Awkwafina, Angela Bassett, Jake Johnson, Charlie Day, Amandla Stenberg, Jemaine Clement, Tom Waits and Richard E. Grant.

Ebenezer: A Christmas Carol (November 20)

Johnny Depp returns to a genre he does so well with a gothic dark fantasy comedy based on Charles Dickens’ novella, “A Christmas Carol”. Depp plays the wealthy but miserly businessman Ebenezer Scrooge, who hates Christmas, until he is forced on an epic supernatural journey that changes his heart. It is directed by Ti West (who made the “X” horror trilogy) and is based on a screenplay by Nathaniel Halpern. The voice cast is loaded too, with Rupert Grint, Andrea Riseborough, Sam Claflin, Daisy Ridley, Arthur Conti, Ellie Bamber, Henry Lloyd-Hughes, Charlie Murphy, Tramell Tillman and Ian McKellen.

The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping (November 20)

Director Francis Lawrence returns to direct another “Hunger Games” movie, a prequel penned by author Suzanne Collins, which is a sequel to “The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.” It gives fans of the series an emotionally devastating peek into the backstory of Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark’s mentor, when a 16-year-old Haymitch Abernathy participated in the 50th Hunger Games. The film stars “East of Eden” actor Joseph Zada as Haymitch, Elle Fanning as Effie Trinket, Kieran Culkin as Caesar Flickerman, Jesse Plemons as Plutarch Heavensbee and Ralph Fiennes as President Coriolanus Snow, alongside McKenna Grace, Glenn Close and more.

Victorian Psycho (November 20)

The horror thriller directed by Zachary Wigon (“Sanctuary”) is based on a 2025 novel written by Spanish writer Virginia Feito. It stars scream queen Maika Monroe alongside Thomasin McKenzie, Ruth Wilson and Jason Isaacs and had its world premiere in the Un Certain Regard section at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival. “Victorian Psycho” follows a governess who arrives at a gothic manor where the staff starts to disappear.

The Good Daughter (November 12)

Bestselling American crime writer Karin Slaughter adapts her novel, “The Good Daughter,” into a series with the same name, starring Rose Byrne, Meghann Fahy, Brendan Gleeson, Harper Steele and more. The series follows two sisters in Pikeville, Georgia — Charlotte and Samantha — 20 years after a violent attack on their family that still affects them. When another similar attack occurs on another family, Charlotte, who is a lawyer, becomes the first witness on the scene. It dredges up old memories and family secrets. It is directed by Steph Green, who has also directed episodes on series like “Scandal,” “Billions,” “Ahsoka” and “Watchmen.”

Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 3 (November 20)

With the war between the Greek gods and the Titans heating up, and Percy (Walker Scobell) and Grover (Aryan Simhadri) on a mission to rescue Annabeth (Leah Sava Jeffries), “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” Season 3 is possibly one of the most eagerly awaited seasons of the series. Based on the YA fantasy book series by Rick Riordan, the new season adapts “The Titan’s Curse”

Guarding Stars (November 18)

November marks the beginning of a slew of Christmas romance films, and it gets a perfect entrant with “Guarding Stars,” which adapts Katherine Center’s novel, “The Bodyguard,” a Netflix film. It stars “Supernatural” actor Jared Padalecki as a popular action star, Jack Stapleton, who hires a bodyguard — “Gossip Girl” star Leighton Meester — and pretends to be in a relationship with her to avoid worrying his family. Directed by Elizabeth Allen Rosenbaum and written by Erin Cardillo and Richard Keith, it also stars Andie McDowell and Noah LaLonde, among others.
