Navaan Sandhu Talks New Album ‘Bipolar,’ Dhanda Nyoliwala Collaboration and His Most Personal Music Yet (EXCLUSIVE)

Punjabi music artist Navaan Sandhu has released his new album “Bipolar,” a 13-track project that explores identity, ambition, vulnerability and personal growth through a mix of Punjabi melodies and contemporary sounds. Featuring collaborations with Dhanda Nyoliwala, Mickey Singh, Param, Sanya Dandona and Shai, the album marks a significant new chapter for Sandhu as he continues to establish himself as one of the most prominent voices in modern Punjabi music.

Speaking exclusively to Variety India, Sandhu described “Bipolar” as a deeply personal project that reflects the different emotions, experiences and perspectives that have shaped his journey as both an artist and an individual.

Over the past several years, Sandhu has emerged as one of the leading voices in a new generation of Punjabi music artists blending traditional influences with hip hop, R&B, pop and global sounds. Since breaking through with “In Demand” in 2018, he has built a growing audience through projects including “Naveezy,” “The Finest” and “House Navior,” earning a reputation for his genre fluid approach and emotionally resonant songwriting.

With “Bipolar,” Navaan Sandhu turns inward, using music to explore the dualities that define modern life. The album examines the tension between confidence and self doubt, ambition and vulnerability, while offering listeners a more intimate look at the artist behind the music.

“Bipolar is a reflection of everything I’ve experienced, felt and grown through,” Sandhu tells Variety India. “Every song comes from a different state of mind and represents a different side of me. As artists and as people, we are constantly evolving, and I wanted this album to capture that journey honestly.”

The album’s most anticipated collaboration is “Kath Lagda,” which brings together Navaan Sandhu, Dhanda Nyoliwala and Sanya Dandona. The music video for the single dropped earlier today (June 12). The track unites two artists who have helped shape the current wave of North Indian music. Nyoliwala has emerged as one of the most closely watched names in the Punjabi and Haryanvi music landscape through a string of successful releases and a rapidly expanding fanbase.

The album also features “Star Girl” with Mickey Singh, “Bodyguard” with Param and “Yaara Ve Yaara” featuring Shai. Together, the collaborations add new dimensions to a project rooted in personal storytelling and emotional honesty. Beyond its guest appearances, “Bipolar” includes tracks such as “Hood Ambience,” “City Dreams,” “Moodshift,” “Naveezy Era,” “She Ain’t Easy,” “Yaad,” “Kaare,” “Headliner” and “Boozed U.” Across the 13 songs, Sandhu explores themes of aspiration, relationships, memory, self-reflection and personal evolution.

For the artist, the album was conceived as a complete listening experience rather than a collection of standalone singles. “I wanted ‘Bipolar’ to feel like a complete experience rather than just a collection of tracks,” he says. “Every collaboration, sound and story has its own purpose, and I hope listeners find a part of themselves somewhere in this album.”

The release arrives as Punjabi music continues to expand its influence across global markets, with artists increasingly experimenting across genres while maintaining strong connections to regional storytelling and culture. Sandhu has been part of that evolution, helping bridge traditional Punjabi musical sensibilities with contemporary production and international influences.

With “Bipolar,” Navaan Sandhu delivers what may be his most introspective work to date, offering listeners a portrait of an artist embracing every side of himself. Featuring appearances from Dhanda Nyoliwala, Mickey Singh, Param, Sanya Dandona and Shai, the album represents both a creative statement and a new milestone in the singer-songwriter’s evolving career.
