Gorillaz Add Guwahati as Third Stop on Debut India Tour
It’s the world’s “most successful virtual band,” but fans of the BRIT and Grammy-winning Gorillaz can expect to rock with Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlettt in yet another Indian city after Bengaluru and Mumbai. Gorillaz just announced Guwahati as their latest stop on the Indian leg of ‘The Mountain tour, which incidentally, is also their debut tour of the country.
In Guwahati, Gorillaz will perform at the Sarusajai Sports Complex (Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium) on January 31, 2027, in collaboration with Assam Tourism.
This follows their appearances in Bengaluru at District Arena, Terraform on January 23, 2027 and at Jio World Garden, BKC, on January 27, 2027.

Audiences in Guwahati will now be able to experience live the world of animated band members 2D, Murdoc Niccals, Noodle and Russel Hobbs. Gorillaz co-creator Damon Albarn will be joined onstage by the Gorillaz live band and some very special guest performers for a very special in-person experience.
Albarn and Hewlett lent a joint statement: “We’re really looking forward to our first Indian shows. The album came to life in India and is shaped by the many incredible musicians we met and worked with around the country. It was always our ambition to bring ‘The Mountain’ back. We can’t wait to perform and experience the energy in Mumbai, Bengaluru and now, Guwahati.”
With this addition, Northeast India is increasingly coming into focus as a region where the appetite for large-scale live entertainment is growing. Guwahati’s continued readiness to host international productions at scale is working its magic.
