‘Kalyani’ (Shreya Ghoshal Remix) Tops India’s Spotify and YouTube Music Charts Simultaneously, Label Says It’s ‘Overwhelmed’ By Response (EXCLUSIVE)
“Kalyani” has emerged as quite the surprise musical sensation of 2026. The original Malayalam-language song by ARJN (Arjun Sunil), KDS (Kiran Das), FIFTY4 (Vishnu V) and RONN (Ron Vinod) was later remixed in a new version with additional Hindi lyrics featuring Shreya Ghoshal and is now finding renewed fame.
The growing popularity of the Shreya Ghoshal Remix has resulted in it featuring on multiple music lists, topping Spotify’s Top 50 - India as well as the YouTube India Daily Chart simultaneously as of September 4. The song continues to amass millions of views and streams every day, competing against global releases on the Indian music charts. Previously, it became the first Malayalam song to enter YouTube’s Global Charts, peaking at number 2 on August 21. It also broke into Spotify’s Weekly Top Songs Global chart’s Top 200 list at No. 194 on September 4.

Sharing its thoughts exclusively to Variety India on the welcoming response to the track, MVR (Money Verse Records), the record label behind the song, says, “The love and response ‘Kalyani’ has received has honestly been overwhelming and heartwarming. American rapper Snoop Dogg and his son Cordell Broadus also found it to be quite an irresistible tune, praising “Kalyani” with unexpected shoutouts on their social media handles. Currently, the official music video of the song stands at 158 million views on YouTube, having achieved the feat in just over two months since its release on July 1, 2026. It stars Saniya Iyappan, with Fifty4, Suhas Moideen and Pulkit Singh providing the Hindi lyrics.
Meanwhile, ARJN and KDS have a new song named "Nokkanda" releasing later this month.
