Naga Chaitanya and Bhumika Chawla Join Forces For Prime Video’s ‘Dhootha’ Season 2 (EXCLUSIVE)

After sharing screen space in the 2018 Telugu action thriller, "Savyasachi," Naga Chaitanya and Bhumika Chawla are set to reunite once again. Variety India has exclusively learned that the “Tere Naam” actress has joined Naga Chaitanya in the second season of Prime Video India's Telugu supernatural thriller series "Dhootha."

Chawla will play a prominent role in the new season and will join the returning cast members Parvathy Thiruvothu and Priya Bhavani Shankar, who will reprise their characters from the first season. Vikram K. Kumar will also return to direct, promising the series' signature blend of mystery, supernatural intrigue and psychological suspense with a new chapter set against a different backdrop. Shooting has officially kicked off.
“Dhootha” season 2 was announced last Friday with a traditional pooja ceremony, where Naga Chaitanya’s father and Telugu superstar Nagarjuna gave the clap. During the event, it was announced that Chaitanya will also produce this show, in addition to headlining it. This series marks his foray into production.
His maiden streaming debut, the first season of “Dhootha,” revolved around an ambitious journalist who rises to the role of an editor-in-chief of a major newspaper. His life takes a terrifying turn when he starts receiving newspaper clippings that predict tragic and deadly events involving people around him. As dark secrets emerge, he is forced to confront both supernatural forces and his own troubled past. The first season premiered in October 2023.
