After his victories in reality shows like “MTV Roadies Double Cross,” “MTV Splitsvilla X6,” and “Maa Hai Naa,” Kushal Tanwar aka Gullu has joined Salman Khan’s “Bigg Boss 20.” A digital content creator, Tanwar is known as Gullu on social media. He shares with Variety India that he is more excited than nervous about entering the house. The thought of meeting Salman Khan on the stage had been giving him sleepless nights. “So far, I have only seen him in theaters. The fact that he will call my name on the stage, talk to me during weekend episodes and so on feels surreal. I have been his fan forever and to hear my name on his lips, it is unimaginable” he gushes.

His gang-leader on "Roadies" and close friend Elvish Yadav took home the “Bigg Boss OTT 2” trophy in 2023. Tanwar shares that Yadav has advised him to be his spontaneous authentic self on “Bigg Boss 20.” He says, “He has advised me to be my real self. I believe that my comebacks should always happen on the spot. This means that some unfiltered conversations might happen (laughs). However, Elvish and I are different people with different traits. So, let us see how things pan out.”

Tanwar also states that he has utmost respect for “Bigg Boss” as a platform. “After ‘Roadies,’ I received an offer for ‘Bigg Boss.’ I refused it as I felt I did not deserve the platform. This time, I am more confident. I am manifesting my fourth win bringing home the ‘Bigg Boss 20’ trophy,” he says.

Contestants from shows like “Roadies” and “Splitsvilla” are known to be rather blunt and aggressive on the show. Reflecting on that, Tanwar says, “I was rather shy in ‘Roadies’ but opened up a little bit too much on ‘Splitsvilla,’ (laughs). I will be quite frank on this show. My interactions will be fun,” he concludes.
