Here’s why Imran Khan’s comeback film was missing from Netflix India’s slate announcement (EXCLUSIVE)
Netflix India announced an expansive slate of films and shows for this year at a grand event yesterday. The line-up included a wide range of projects spanning genres and featuring a star-studded cast including Sunny Deol, Akshaye Khanna, Saif Ali Khan, Parineeti Chopra, Madhuri Dixit, Triptii Dimri and Rajkummar Rao. However, Imran Khan's much-awaited comeback film, Adhure Hum Adhure Tum, was surprisingly not announced, raising questions about its status.
Upon checking on the matter, Variety India has learned that Imran's film has been stuck in limbo following the exit of the Netflix executive who greenlit the project. Although it still remains with the platform, internal logistical and scheduling issues are still being resolved, resulting in the postponement of its release. The film was initially supposed to premiere in the first quarter of 2026.

A source from the team shares, “We wrapped the shoot in July, and delivered our cut in October. Unfortunately, since the executive who originally greenlit our project was let go, the film has just been languishing. No official word from Netflix on when they intend to release it, but considering the timelines for post production (color grading, sound mixing etc), it can only release post July.”
Adhure Hum Adhure Tum marks Imran's comeback to full-fledged acting after an 11-year hiatus. He stars alongside Bhumi S. Pednekkar and Gurfateh Pirzada in this dysfunctional romantic dramedy, directed by Danish Aslam, best known for helming Imran and Deepika Padukone's 2010 rom-com, Break Ke Baad. Produced by Imran and Danish in partnership with Open Air Films (Cobalt Blue), the rom-com is packed with humour, emotional depth and chaotic relationships, promising a refreshing yet nostalgic revisit to the kind of breezy entertainers Imran has been known for.
