‘Chand Mera Dil’ Trailer Review: A Layered Take On The Highs And Lows Of Romance

For the past few weeks, love has been in the air thanks to “Aitbaar” and “Khasiyat,” the two tracks from “Chand Mera Dil” starring Ananya Panday and Lakshya. And with a little less than two weeks to go for its release, the makers have taken that warm and fuzzy feeling of love by dropping its trailer that brings with it a lot of love, intensity, heartbreak and emotion. Rest assured, it’s going to hit you right in the feels.

What we liked

Focusing on the best and important parts of the film, this trailer also shows us the highs and lows that Chandni (Ananya) and Aarav (Lakshya) go through. What’s consistent throughout is the intensity; nothing is toned down. The romance and chemistry make you root for the couple, and their fights and arguments seem relatable (except for Lakshya screaming out loud). Furthermore, the story does give one the feeling that the love story isn’t only going to be about sunshine and rainbows, but also shows us the honesty, challenges, conflicts, and growth it takes for any relationship to prosper. If you were looking for a plot and characters with layers, there’s a lot to look forward to with “Chand Mera Dil.”

What we didn’t

It looks like trailers of the romance genre stick to one particular template and refuse to think outside the box. You either start with the problem, then show how things were good, followed by a heartbreak song with the leads screaming their hearts out, only to show the pair still pining for each other. The two then bury their differences and realize through a final dialogue in the trailer that hey, we still love each other. “Chand Mera Dil” is no different. So, if you feel you’ve been down this road before and seen something like this earlier, you aren't wrong.

Produced by Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, Somen Mishra, and Marijke deSouza, “Chand Mera Dil” is set to release in cinemas on May 22, 2026.
