Alan Ritchson on Why ‘Reacher’ Season 4 is the Best Yet and Shooting For Season 5
Jack Reacher is back for a fourth season. Alan Ritchson, who plays the crime-fighting drifter, has declared the season, releasing on August 14, 2026, on Prime Video, as the series’ best outing yet.
This is a tall claim after “Reacher” Season 3 turned around an impressive Rotten Tomatoes score of 98%. After a subdued Season 2, Season 3 let Reacher run a solo mission again and finally take on a bad guy his size and stature (or slightly bigger than him). But Ritchson assures fans that Season 4 will be firing on all guns and crank things up a notch higher with the story, action and cinematography.

“Sometimes it takes a few years to get the machine working properly. We've had some great seasons, but this one felt like we finally figured it out. The mechanics of the show, the cinematography, the story really dialed in to the best of what ‘Reacher’ has to offer. I'm confident in saying this. We've aired three seasons so far. This fourth season is the best yet," he says.
With the series already greenlit for a fifth season, it turns out Ritchson and Team “Reacher” are wasting no time. He reveals, “We're about to shoot our fifth. I leave here and I start shooting.”
From showrunner and writer Nick Santora and based on “Gone Tomorrow,” which is the 13th book in Lee Child’s bestselling series, “Reacher” Season 4 will take Jack Reacher to New York City, where a chance encounter on the subway pulls him into a high-stakes conspiracy involving some very powerful people. That means more dangerous missions where Reacher will have to exercise his brain and brawn and US military training to get out of tight situations.

The “Reacher” Season 4 cast includes Sydelle Noel, Chris Marquette, AGNEZ MO, Anggun, Kevin Weisman, Marc Blucas, Kevin Corrigan, and Kathleen Robertson. Of the eight episodes in the season, the first three episodes will release on August 12, 2026. The remaining five episodes will drop weekly until September 16, 2026, which is also the date when all eight episodes of the “Reacher” spinoff, “Neagley,” headlined by Maria Stern’s Frances Neagley, also release.
