Tom Holland’s ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ Introduces ‘Shot for SCREENX’ Format Ahead of July 30 Release
The upcoming sequel, “Spider-Man: Brand New Day”, has announced plans to be released in a new, never-before-seen format. Called “Shot for SCREENX,” the collaboration between Sony Pictures Entertainment and filmmaker Destin Daniel Cretton aims to showcase a “unique version of the film specifically designed for panoramic SCREENX auditoriums.”
The Korean cinema technology company CJ 4DPLEX has decided to launch the awaited Tom Halland-led film by screening it for the fans in an immersive 270-degree panoramic cinema format. The first-of-its-kind collaboration allows the cinema format producer to present the massive fanbase of the webbed superhero with a changed version of the film, enhancing their theatrical experience.

“CJ 4DPLEX and their team came to the set of “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” to shoot footage that you will experience specifically for SCREENX auditoriums,” shares director Destin Daniel Cretton. He calls it “something truly unique.”
A similar expectation is imitated by the collaborators on the other end. “Shot for SCREENX represents an exciting evolution for our format,” says Jun Bang, CEO, CJ 4DPLEX. “By working closely with Sony Pictures and Destin Daniel Cretton, and by utilizing our proprietary SCREENX production tools and presentation technology, we are able to expand the film’s visual canvas while preserving the director’s creative vision.
