The Fast and the Furious Races to Cannes for 25th Anniversary Midnight Screening
The 79th Festival de Cannes is set to trade prestige for high-octane adrenaline as it hosts a special midnight screening of the 2001 classic “The Fast and the Furious.” On Wednesday, May 13, at 11:45 pm, the iconic Grand Théâtre Lumière will resonate with the roar of engines to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the film that launched a global cultural phenomenon.
The red carpet at the Palais des Festivals will welcome the core members of the "Fast Family," including original stars Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez and Jordana Brewster. They will be joined by longtime producer Neal H. Moritz and Meadow Walker, daughter of the late Paul Walker, to honor the legacy of the film that first introduced audiences to Dominic Toretto and Brian O’Conner. What began as a gritty thriller set within the underground street-racing culture of Los Angeles has since evolved into an unprecedented cinematic journey spanning eleven films.
