Pond Naravit and Phuwin Tangsakyuen on Returning With ‘Peach and Me,’ Love Scenes in BL Stories and Meeting Indian Fans (EXCLUSIVE)
When “Me and Thee” premiered, audiences got the lighthearted rom-com they were waiting for. The popularity of the 10-episode show, featuring popular Thai BL actor pair Pond-Phuwin, comprising Naravit Lertratkosum (Pond) and Phuwin Tangsakyuen, has surpassed its makers’ expectations. The series went on to spawn the vertical spin-off “Tee and Thee” and the four-part mini-series “Peach and Me,” both created for the duo’s fans. But Pond and Phuwin’s journey together dates back to 2021, when they first teamed up in “Fish upon the Sky.” Since then, the two have built a global following while pursuing individual projects — including Lertratkosum’s stint in the T-pop band Jasper — even as their popularity as a pair continues to grow. The two have also ventured into music with the song "Riser Music."
Lertratkosum and Tangsakyuen speak exclusively to Variety India about revisiting their beloved characters Thee and Peach, the evolution of their on-screen partnership and the complexities of navigating the BL (Boys’ Love) acting space.
Why was it important for you to make a sequel to ‘Me and Thee’?
Phuwin: GMMTV saw the strong response and interest from fans toward “Me and Thee,” and felt that continuing the story would make fans happy. For us, it was also a special opportunity to bring these characters back and give something meaningful to the fans of the series.
Pond: We had the opportunity to talk about it around the time of the “Me and Thee” fan party and after-party events, and we felt there was still room for the characters’ stories to develop. We thought many fans would probably want to know what would happen next with Thee and Peach and their relationship.

‘Peach and Me’ addressed topics like adoption for same-sex couples. What did you hope to convey through that storyline?
Pond: From an actor’s perspective, bringing this topic into the series allows us to explore love, family and building a life with someone from a broader perspective. What’s important is to present the topic naturally through the characters and the story, rather than telling the audience what they should think or feel.
Phuwin: When we see a wider variety of stories and relationships, it can help society become more familiar with and open to different perspectives. In the early days of BL series, audiences were also gradually introduced to different forms of relationships through entertainment.
From ‘Fish upon the Sky’ to ‘Peach and Me,’ how have you evolved as a pairing? How do you handle differences now compared to when you first started working together?
Phuwin: I think we’ve changed quite a lot, both in terms of experience and maturity. The one thing I believe is very important, whether it’s in our work or in any relationship, is communication. When our opinions differ, we try to talk things through and understand each other better.
Pond: We’ve changed a lot, both as individuals and in the way we work together. We’ve grown and experienced many things together over the past six years. So, when we have different opinions, we find what works best for the project.
You’ve spoken about the challenges of filming love scenes in the BL space. With increased intimacy in ‘Peach and Me,’ how did you approach those scenes?
Phuwin: I don’t think NC (Not for Children) or love scenes are necessarily essential to every BL series. If a series has a romantic tone or a story that naturally calls for those scenes, they can help tell the story and develop the characters’ relationship.
Pond: For me, romantic or intimate scenes depend on how the story develops and how the characters’ emotions are portrayed. It also depends on the direction, mood and context of each scene. So, we see these scenes as part of storytelling.

If ‘Thee and Peach’ could cross over with another BL series, which one would you choose?
Pond: I’d choose “Ticket to Heaven.” I think it would be really interesting to see them meet because each story has such distinctive characters and its own unique world.
Phuwin: If Thee and Peach could meet the characters from “Wu,” I think that would be really fun. Especially if Thee encountered Yao, a strange supernatural energy or demonic spirit, he would have a lot of questions!
You have a growing fan base in India, and many fans are hoping you will hold a fan meeting here. Are you aware of that? What would you like to say to your Indian fans?
Phuwin: If I have the opportunity, I’d really love to meet our fans in India. I want to thank you for supporting us, even though we haven’t had the chance to meet you yet.
Pond: I’m really happy to know that our Indian fans are waiting to meet us. I’m very grateful for all the support and love you’ve given us. Hopefully, we’ll get to meet one day.
