‘Not Alone’ Teaser Trailer Review: Timothée Chalamet And Selena Gomez Find Love And Alien Chaos In This Animated Sci-Fi Comedy
Timothée Chalamet has officially caught the sci-fi bug. Following his time in the world of "Dune: Part Three", the Oscar nominee is swapping sandworms for spaceships in his very first animated feature. He is joined by animation veteran Selena Gomez for a cosmic romantic comedy that looks equal parts sweet and delightfully chaotic.
The plot follows Joe (Chalamet), a solitary rocket mechanic, and Fran (Gomez), a brilliant astro-botanist dreaming of a plant-fueled rocket. Working together at a company called Space Burst, the pair prepare for a revolutionary launch and start scheduling dinner dates.

The teaser trailer gives us a front-row seat to some serious, gravity-defying chemistry between these two characters. We get a taste of their playful banter when Fran asks a clearly flustered Joe, "Did I just make you blush? I didn’t take you for a blusher." Naturally, he tries to play it cool with a quick, "Because I’m not."
However, their blossoming romance hits a major snag when their rocket collides with an unknown object, hurtling back to Earth with some unexpected hitchhikers.
While the trailer starts with a quietly sweet, slightly melancholy tone, it shifts gears the second the extraterrestrials arrive. Because this is an Illumination movie, you know they had to bring in some weird little guys.
Unlike "Minions", these three tiny, opinionated aliens speak perfect English and are voiced by absolute UK comedy royalty. Rob Brydon lends his voice to Dunk, Diane Morgan plays Welly, and Jamie Demetriou steps in as Shirm.
The trio ends up hiding out in Joe’s home while on the run from Officer Zandro, a zealous intergalactic lawman voiced by Brett Goldstein. With Allison Janney and Lamorne Morris also on board, this voice cast is completely stacked. Whether these aliens will help Joe win Fran's heart or totally ruin first contact for the rest of Earth remains to be seen when the film hits theaters on April 16 2027.
