Sagarika Ghatge is the latest addition to the cast of Salman Khan and Nayanthara’s upcoming film with director Vamshi Paidipally, Variety India has learned exclusively.

Ghatge, best known for her role as Preeti Sabharwal in "Chak De! India," has joined the currently untitled project, which is tentatively known as "SVC63." The film is being directed by Paidipally and produced by Dil Raju under Sri Venkateswara Creations. Salman Khan had confirmed the collaboration earlier this year, with production beginning in Mumbai in April.

Variety India can confirm Sagarika Ghatge’s casting in the project. Details about her character are being kept under wraps at this stage.

The film marks the first collaboration between Salman and Paidipally. It also brings Salman Khan and Nayanthara together for the first time, with Nayanthara confirmed as the female lead. The project is being mounted as a large-scale action entertainer and is currently being shot in Mumbai.

The Mumbai leg includes major action sequences, with the team expected to continue filming in other locations as production progresses. Rahul Dev is also part of the cast, while Jackie Shroff has recently joined the ensemble.

For Sagarika Ghatge, the project marks a return to a major theatrical ensemble after a relatively selective screen presence in recent years. Her addition gives the film another familiar face as Paidipally builds an ensemble around Salman Khan and Nayanthara.

The project is among Salman’s key upcoming films and follows his recent confirmation that he would begin work with Paidipally and Dil Raju. The makers have yet to announce the film’s final title and release date.
