Konkona Sen Sharma Starrer ‘Accused’ Gets A February Release Date On Netflix
One of the most-awaited projects unveiled at Netflix’s slate announcement event in Mumbai last week was "Accused", starring Konkona Sen Sharma and Laapataa Ladies breakout star, Pratibha Rannta, in the lead. The film marks the first collaboration between the two actors and is directed by Anubhuti Kashyap. The streaming giant has now officially revealed the film’s release date.
What happens when belief becomes a choice, and the stand taken by someone comes at a personal cost? "Accused", as per the promotional material, places a woman at the center as she is being questioned by the world around her. The film is set to premiere on Netflix on February 27.

Directed by Kashyap, "Accused", set in London, follows a celebrated doctor, played by Konkona Sen Sharma, who appears to be living the perfect life until one incident turns her world upside down. Accused of sexual misconduct, she must not only fight to prove her innocence but also confront the harsh judgments of the world around her. The film explores how the allegations impact her relationships with family and friends as they grapple with public scrutiny and personal doubt.
Speaking about the film, Team "Accused" shared, “Accused is the kind of story that stays with you because it refuses to simplify human behavior or moral conflict. Anubhuti has crafted a deeply nuanced film that places women at the center of a narrative we rarely explore—one where power, perception and belief are constantly shifting. With Konkona and Pratibha leading the film, we’re looking at a relationship tested not just by accusation, but by doubt as well. It’s a story told with restraint, empathy and courage, and we’re proud to bring it to Netflix, a platform that has supported the film’s intent to provoke thought rather than judgment.”
"Accused" is written by Sima Agarwal and Yash Keswani. The film has already generated curiosity and anticipation following the release of its teaser last week.
