‘‘Dhurandhar 2’ Vs ‘Toxic’ Clash Is a Win for the Indian Film Industry,’ Says Huma Qureshi (EXCLUSIVE)

The epic upcoming clash between Ranveer Singh-starrer “Dhurandhar 2” and Yash’s “Toxic” has been a talking point not only among the fans but also across the entertainment industry. Both films are expected to set new benchmarks during their grand theatrical arrival.

While cinegoers and fraternity members are keeping their eyes on this box-office battle, Huma Qureshi, who plays a prominent role in “Toxic,” shares her opinion on this #Dhuroxic fight at the ticket windows while talking to Variety India.

Calling this clash a ‘win-win situation’ for the film industry, Huma says, “No matter what I say, I think whichever way I look at it, it is a win for the Indian film industry and it's going to be great for the audiences. It's a win-win, the way I look at it and I think it's going to be like just a fantastic time for movie-going audiences, and there is space for everyone to do well.”

As these two biggies are coming on March 19, during the festive weekend of Eid, they are expected to open to packed houses across the country; however, the split of screens will impact box-office collections as they will eat into each other’s business.

While makers of both films are adamant about releasing their movies on the same day, it would be interesting to see how they will divide the screens between them.

Talking about “Dhurandhar 2,” the movie will also see Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, Sara Arjun, Rakesh Bedi, Danish Pandor, Gaurav Gera and Manav Gohil reprising their characters from the first part. Unlike the first part, the Aditya Dhar directorial will also be released in dubbed versions of Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam.

On the other hand, “Toxic,” which is simultaneously shot in Kannada and English, is directed by Geetu Mohandas. The period gangster thriller stars Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Rukmini Vasanth and Tara Sutaria in key roles.
