Box Office Weekend Winners: ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ Continues Its Dominance, ‘DC,’ ‘Thudakkam’ and ‘Ohh My Dog’ Witness Noticeable Jump
Tom Holland’s “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” continued its dominance in its second weekend at the Indian box office, despite the arrival of fresh releases. While new films saw decent growth over the weekend, they were nowhere near the webhead flick.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ Becomes the Highest Hollywood Grosser
The latest Spidey movie dominated the cinema halls, collecting ₹80.70 crore in its second weekend. With a total of ₹415.45 crore, it is now the highest-grossing Hollywood film in India, surpassing “Avatar: The Way of Water” (₹391.40 crore).
‘DC,’ ‘Ohh My Dog,’ ‘Korean Kanakaraju’ and ‘Thudakkam’ Grow Over Their First Weekend
Lokesh Kanagaraj’s acting debut “DC” witnessed an upward swing over the weekend, with Sunday’s earnings of ₹9.55 crore, taking its total collection to ₹20.95 crore. Mohanlal’s daughter Vismaya Mohanlal’s first film “Thudakkam” also garnered good footfalls, doing business of ₹10.40 crore in its first three days of release. In the clutter of releases, Amit Rai’s “Ohh My Dog” also managed to make its presence felt on the opening weekend by raking in ₹3.25 crore. Varun Tej’s horror-comedy “Korean Kanakaraju” also ended its first weekend on a satisfactory note by bringing in ₹13.20 crore.

Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey” continued a steady run by scoring ₹10.75 crore in its fourth weekend. It currently stands at 169.50 crore. Thalapathy Vijay’s “Jana Nayagan” crossed the ₹190 crore mark by generating ₹7.15 crore in its third weekend.
