‘Bhooth Bangla’ Box Office: Akshay Kumar–Priyadarshan Reunion Inches Closer to ₹60 Crore Mark Worldwide, Sees Day 2 Growth
The reunion of Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan has worked in favour of “Bhooth Bangla,” as the film is registering a good opening weekend and continued its collection streak on Day 2. The movie, which also stars Wamiqa Gabbi, Tabu and Mithila Palkar, has grossed over ₹60 crore at the worldwide box office, with India numbers showing an upward trajectory.
As per RecoBee, “Bhooth Bangla” has seen significant growth in footfalls on its first Saturday, which is also the second day since release, excluding the paid previews held on April 16, 2026. After registering a strong Friday, the film raked in ₹18.4 crore on Day 2 in the domestic market alone. The collection came from a staggering 11,513 shows. The India net total of the Priyadarshan directorial now stands at ₹33.60 crore in two days.

Additionally, the film has managed to create curiosity in the global market and has earned ₹18.50 crore in gross collections overseas so far as per Sacnilk. The total now stands at ₹55 crore gross for the Akshay Kumar starrer.
However, “Bhooth Bangla” is set to register another interesting day at the box office today, but the litmus test begins tomorrow. While the reviews have not been in favour of the film, the horror comedy will need strong word of mouth to sustain.
The direct competition in the genre for the Priyadarshan directorial is “Stree 2,” which earned ₹55 crore in its opening weekend. Whether “Bhooth Bangla” manages to outdo the Maddock film remains to be seen. The film is currently running in theatres.
