From ‘Euphoria’ to ‘The Boys’, Shows in Their Final Season in 2026
Endings are hard. And for fans of series like “Euphoria,” “The Boys,” “Hacks,” “Outlander” and more, 2026 will be a difficult year as their beloved shows will deliver their final seasons. Here’s the list:
Euphoria
The HBO series starring Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney, Alexa Demie, Maude Apatow and Hunter Schafer returns after four years for a third and final season on April 12 (April 15 for India). The series will take a five-year time jump, with director Sam Levinson swapping the usual “Euphoria” aesthetic for one inspired by Westerns. A bunch of new characters pop up alongside the series regulars, including Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as the main antagonist, Alamo Brown, a menacing strip-club owner who employs Zendaya’s Rue.
British musician Labrinth, who scored the first two seasons of "Euphoria", has not returned to score the final season, which will end on May 31, 2026.
The Boys
Eric Kripke’s explicit American satirical superhero series, "The Boys," on Prime Video, is in its fifth and final season. With Homelander taking control of the country and Butcher and The Boys forced to run for their lives, this final clash is expected to blow fans’ minds (no, not literally). Fans are in for a treat because not only does their favourite, Jensen Ackles’ Soldier Boy, return, but his “Supernatural” costars Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins will join in on the action in undisclosed roles. With weekly episode drops, the final season will end on May 20, 2026.
"The Boys" has spawned two spinoffs. "Gen V" is currently awaiting a season 3 renewal, while the upcoming prequel, "Vought Rising," led by Ackles' Soldier Boy and Aya Cash's Stormfront, is expected to release in 2027.
Outlander
It’s been 12 years since “Outlander” first premiered in September 2014, an adaptation of author Diana Gabaldon’s beloved historical fiction romance series of the same name. Fans have, quite literally, watched Caitríona Balfe’s Claire Randall and Sam Heughan’s James Fraser grow old together on the show, and loved their chemistry. Season 8, its final, will end on May 8, 2026. A prequel spin-off, “Outlander: Blood of my Blood”, based on Jamie and Claire’s parents, was released in 2025 and has already been renewed for Season 2.

The Bear
For anyone who enjoyed the high-stress environment of Chef Carmy’s kitchen, 2026 will serve the final course. "The Bear" was renewed for a fifth and final season that will arrive sometime this year. Season 4 ended on a shocker, with Jeremy Allen White’s Carmen Berzatto signing over the restaurant to Sydney (Ayo Edebiri), Natalie (Abby Elliot) and Cicero (Oliver Platt), with Richie (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) getting a partnership stake. It will be interesting to explore whether The Bear and Carmy can survive without each other.
Good Omens
The third and final season of Prime Video’s fantasy comedy “Good Omens,” adapted from the novel by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman and starring Michael Sheen as the angel, Aziraphale, and David Tennant as the demon, Crowley, is not exactly a season but a single 90-minute episode that will air on May 13, 2026. The announcement of a truncated season came in the wake of multiple sexual assault allegations against Gaiman, who stepped away from the season 3 production.

Outer Banks
The Pogues and the Kooks are on their last adventure in Season 5 of Netflix’s action-adventure teen drama, starring Chase Stokes, Madelyn Cline, Madison Bailey, Drew Starkey and more. The final season will pick up right after Season 4’s ending, with the Pogues seeking revenge for JJ Maybank’s (Rudy Pankow) death, even traveling to Portugal to hunt down Chandler Groff (J. Anthony Crane) and the Blue Crown. Sarah (Cline) and John B (Stokes) will also deal with the birth of their child.
The Late Show with Stephen Colbert
After 22 years with David Letterman and 11 years with Stephen Colbert as host, "The Late Show" will end its iconic 33-year run on May 21, 2026. While CBS and its parent company, Paramount Global, cited several strategic and financial reasons for this cancellation, there are speculations that the reasons might also be politically influenced.
Mismatched
The Prajakta Koli and Rohit Saraf-led coming-of-age romance drama is the first Netflix India Original to have four seasons. And its fourth will also be its last. With season 3 ending on a heartbreak for Rishi and Dimple, it’ll be interesting to see if they, and the other couples, are endgame or not.
