Aditya Roy Kapur and Tara Sutaria’s upcoming film with Milap Zaveri finally has a title. Variety India has exclusively learned that the intense musical love story, which brings the two actors together on screen for the first time is titled “Parwana.” Interestingly, Zaveri’s last hit was titled “Deewaniyat.”
While there isn't a famous standalone movie exactly named “Deewane Parwana,” the combination of these words is highly iconic in Hindi film history. There is a massive hit song from the classic Bollywood film “Albela” (1951) titled “Deewana Parwana Shama Pe Aaya.”
The title holds significant personal meaning for Zaveri and is tied to the memory of his late mentor, filmmaker Sanjay Gupta. In a recent tribute to Gupta, Zaveri recalled meeting him just days before his passing and sharing the title of his next project.

“We met 10 days ago and I told you the title of my next film. And you jumped in joy and said ‘Milap. The original film with the same title was produced by my father!’ The joy I felt at that moment and the pride you felt in me is indescribable,” Milap Zaveri wrote, adding that the film will be dedicated to his “Guruji.”
This connection gives “Parwana” an added layer of emotional weight, linking Zaveri’s new directorial effort to Gupta’s family heritage and the filmmaker who played a defining role in shaping Zaveri's industry journey.
The film reunites Tara Sutaria with Zaveri following their 2019 collaboration “Marjaavaan,” while marking her first on-screen pairing with Kapur. While further details about the project remain under wraps, the title reveal ensures that “Parwana” will serve as a poignant, personal tribute to Sanjay Gupta on its journey to the screen.
