Aditya Roy Kapur’s Milap Zaveri Film To Go On Floors In October, Makers Still Searching For Leading Lady (EXCLUSIVE)

Aditya Roy Kapur’s next with Milap Zaveri is moving into production. Variety India has learned that the film, backed by T-Series is scheduled to go on floors towards the end of October. However, the makers are yet to lock the female lead opposite Kapur.

While there were reports that actress Bhagyashree Borse, was been considered to star opposite Kapur, T-Series released a statment denying the development. Borse, who featured in cameos in "Yaariyan 2" and Chandu Champion, was last seen in the Telugu movie "Lenin" opposite Akhil Akkineni.

The makers of Kapur's yet-to-be-titled film are looking for the female lead even as preparations for the October-end schedule continue. “An official announcement about the leading lady will be made soon,” informs a source.

Need of Kapur mainling the film was announced in July. Zaveri described the film as an intense, violent and deeply emotional musical love story, with Kapur playing a heroic, passionate and aggressive charactet. The director had also said that the character would be several notches more intense than the one in his 2025 film "Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat."

The project marks Zaveri’s return to the intense romance space after the Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa-starrer. His upcoming film with Kapur is also being positioned as a musical romance, bringing together the filmmaker’s interest in heightened love stories with Kapur, whose filmography includes "Aashiqui 2", "Malang" and "Metro... In Dino." The filmmaker had previously confirmed that pre production on the project was underway and that the team was targeting a 2026 shoot.

For Kapur, the film will be his next theatrical project following Anurag Basu's "Metro... In Dino", with Sara Ali Khan, which released in 2025. 

While the makers have revealed the broad genre and Kapur’s involvement, details about the character he plays, the storyline and the rest of the cast remain under wraps. The female lead is now one of the key pieces of casting still to be finalised before cameras roll towards the end of October.

The film is currently planned for a 2027 theatrical release, although an exact release date has not been announced.
