‘Welcome to the Jungle’ Eyes Strong Saturday Growth, Weekend Set to Outpace ‘Bhooth Bangla’

"Welcome to the Jungle" continues its upward trajectory on Saturday, now aiming at positive growth at the box-office. While it didn’t seem likely, going by advance bookings or even morning trends, the film has rightly picked up significantly as the day has progressed. It is now expected to record a growth of around 20 to 30 percent, taking its collection to at least ₹18 crore (net), with a chance of even touching the ₹20 crore (net) mark.

As per Box Office India, the regions that received a boost from Muharram on opening day have held up well, with collections showing only a marginal decline. Interestingly, these markets could even finish on par with their first-day figures. The growth also indicates that the movie might just be a success with a solid run at the box-office.

Interestingly, Akshay Kumar's recent horror comedy "Bhooth Bangla" collected around ₹18 crore on its first Saturday. With this fact in mind, it can be said that "Welcome to the Jungle" might be much more comfortable than "Bhooth Bangla" around its first weekend, owing to it continuing to gain momentum. Also, since the release of "Bhooth Bangla," the Hindi box-office has gone through a lean phase without producing a commercial success. Now, hopes rest on another Akshay Kumar film, "Welcome to the Jungle," which has the opportunity to end that drought provided it sustains its performance beyond the opening weekend.

"Welcome to the Jungle" (2026) is an action-comedy centred on a powerful businessman who devises an unusual plan to convert his illicit wealth into legitimate earnings by financing a film he expects to become a major box-office failure. However, production spirals out of control when the cast and crew find themselves stranded in a perilous jungle, turning the project into a series of wild adventures, comic mishaps and high-stakes encounters.
