Tiger Shroff, Shanaya Kapoor to Headline Firoz Nadiadwala’s Zombie Comedy (EXCLUSIVE)

Even as “Welcome to the Jungle” remains in production, Firoz Nadiadwala is already expanding his upcoming slate. Variety India has exclusively learned that Nadiadwala has signed Tiger Shroff and Shanaya Kapoor for a zombie comedy.

The yet-untitled film will be directed by Ahmed Khan, who's also directing the upcoming fourth installment of the “Welcome” franchise, and has previously directed Tiger in “Baaghi 2,” “Baaghi 3” and “Heropanti 2.” Both Tiger and Shanaya have apparently given their nods, with shooting scheduled to kick off by the end of this year.

Plot details are under wraps, but the film is being positioned as a fresh addition to Bollywood’s comedy landscape, as the zombie comedy genre has largely remained unexplored since Raj & DK's “Go Goa Gone. (2013)” Another zombie-themed project in the making is Ranveer Singh's “Pralay,” though that leans more toward action and thriller elements with a darker tone. The film will also mark Tiger’s foray into comedy, following a career that's largely been defined by action franchises like “Baaghi” and “Heropanti.”

Tiger has a slew of exciting movies lined up. He's currently shooting for Raj Mehta's romantic revenge drama, “Lag Jaa Gale,” with Lakshya and Janhvi Kapoor, and will then head to Murad Khetani's action thriller, directed by Kannada filmmaker Sachin Ravi. In September, Tiger will begin shooting for Ram Madhavani's mytho actioner, “Vajra.”

The new zombie comedy is expected to go on floors only after Tiger has finished his prior commitments. Shanaya, on the other hand, was recently seen in Bejoy Nambiar's survival thriller “Tu Yaa Main” and will next feature opposite “Munjya” fame Abhay Verma in Shujaat Saudagar's period comedy, “JC.”

Meanwhile, Ahmed Khan and team are set to fly to Dubai in mid-May for a grand-scale song shoot for “Welcome to the Jungle.” The film, starring Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Paresh Rawal, Arshad Warsi, Johnny Lever and Rajpal Yadav, among others, is set to release in theaters on June 26, 2026.
