Tom Holland’s “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” has shattered several records during its 22-day theatrical run. As the movie ended its fourth weekend, it continued its dominance and is now on track to achieve one of the biggest milestones at the box office.

With current global collections of $2.22 billion and no big competition in the coming week, the superhero film will soon surpass titles like “Titanic” ($2.26 billion), “Ne Zha 2” ($2.27 billion), and “Avatar: The Way Of Water” ($2.33 billion). It will break into the top three grossers in cinema history, as the Spidey flick will overtake the James Cameron-directorial from the third spot.

However, it will be a tough task for the movie to come close to or surpass the top 2 biggest grossers, “Avatar” ($2.92 billion) and “Avengers: Endgame” ($2.79 billion). While the film is enjoying the first spot on the list of 2026’s biggest grossers, it is expected to lose its position to another Marvel movie, “Avengers: Doomsday,” which is releasing on December 18 and poised to set new benchmarks at the worldwide box office.

“Spider-Man: Brand New Day” also stars Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal, Florence Pugh, Tramell Tillman, Marisa Tomei and Mark Ruffalo in prominent roles. The MCU movie is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, who previously helmed “Short Term 12,” “The Glass Castle,” “Just Mercy” and “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.” Estimated to cost $225 million, it is produced by Kevin Feige, Amy Pascal, Avi Arad, and Rachel O'Connor.

The film features music by Michael Giacchino and editing by Nat Sanders, Gina Sansom and Harry Yoon. It is produced under the banners of Columbia Pictures, Marvel Studios and Pascal Pictures.
