‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ Box Office Collection Day 3: Tom Holland’s Film On A Rampage, Inches Towards the ₹200 Crore Mark

It is turning out to be one of the most epic weekends for Hollywood films in India. Tom Holland and Destin Daniel Cretton’s “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” is firing on all cylinders at the box office. It is all set to cross the ₹200-crore mark by Sunday. Box-office tracker Sacnilk shared that it has made close to ₹70.25 crore (nett) on Saturday at the Indian box office, which is the highest for a non-Indian movie.

The film has made close to ₹180.25 crore (nett) in three days, which in itself is a milestone for a Hollywood movie. It follows the story of a lonely Peter Parker after the memory wiping spell of "Spider-Man: No Way Home." In this film, he deals with a dangerous physical mutation and a new threat with otherworldly powers. It seems it has already made close to ₹35 crores (gross) on Sunday having 10, 154 shows across India.
On the other hand, Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey” has made ₹146.46 (nett) crores so far in India. It has surpassed the lifetime collections of his previous blockbuster, “Oppenheimer” that made a little above ₹150 crores gross. Holland plays the role of Telemachus in the film. He is the son of Odysseus (Matt Damon) and Penelope (Anne Hathaway).
“Spider-Man: Brand New Day” was released in India after the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) reduced a kissing scene between the leads. This is Tom Holland’s fourth Spider-Man movie. Zendaya is playing MJ in the movie while Sadie Sink is Jean Grey. It also has actors like Mark Ruffalo, Florence Pugh and Eman Esfandi. The director Destin Daniel Cretton has made “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” with Marvel Studios in the past.
