Madhuri Dixit’s “Kon Honar Crorepati” is slated to premiere on Sony Marathi and SonyLIV during the Navratri festive period in October, Variety India has learned.
The show is targeting the Navratri window, which begins on October 11 this year and culminates with Dussehra on October 20. While an exact premiere date is yet to be announced, the festive period is currently being eyed for the launch.
The show marks a major television move for Dixit, who is returning to the host’s chair after more than two decades. The actor previously hosted “Kahin Na Kahin Koi Hai” in 2002. She has since become a familiar face on television, particularly through her long-running association with dance reality shows as a judge.

“Kon Honar Crorepati” is the Marathi adaptation of the popular quiz format “Kaun Banega Crorepati”. The format puts contestants in the hot seat as they answer a series of questions for the chance to win a cash prize. The show combines general knowledge with the personal stories and aspirations of its contestants, making the host’s role central to the experience.
Dixit’s casting gives the Marathi edition a fresh identity while also bringing one of the industry’s biggest stars to a format traditionally associated with veteran television hosts. The Marathi version has previously featured hosts including Sachin Khedekar, Swapnil Joshi and Nagraj Manjule.
For Sony Marathi, the planned launch also gives the channel a prominent property around one of the biggest festive periods. The simultaneous availability on SonyLIV will allow the show to reach audiences beyond its television footprint.
The Navratri window is currently a target rather than a locked premiere date. The final launch date and other details around the season are expected to be announced by the network closer.
