This major milestone builds directly upon a sustained multi-year climb that tracked the audience base at 353.2 million back in 2021.
Monetization is successfully matching this wider national reach. The latest study highlights a significant 16% growth in paid OTT subscriptions, climbing from 148 million in 2025 to 173 million in 2026. Viewer engagement remains remarkably robust across platforms: an average Indian OTT audience member spends 14.9 hours per week consuming digital video content.
Across the entire country, total annual watch time reaches an astonishing 517 billion hours, a sweeping metric that encompasses mainstream programming, social media videos, bite-sized micro-dramas, and Free Ad-supported Streaming TV (FAST) channels.
