‘Avengers Endgame: Encore’ Adds Three Post Credits Scenes With New Footage Ahead of ‘Avengers: Doomsday’
"Avengers Endgame: Encore" is bringing the 2019 Marvel blockbuster back to cinemas with more than a theatrical re-release. The new version features additional footage, an altered ending and three post credits scenes, expanding the film with fresh material that connects directly to the upcoming "Avengers: Doomsday".
The additions amount to four new pieces of footage across the film and its credits. The ending has been extended from the version audiences saw in 2019, while the three post credits sequences introduce further material tied to the next phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Reports from international screenings have confirmed the presence of all three sequences, after Marvel’s initial announcement had only referred to additional new footage and a post credits scene.
The re-release runs approximately four minutes longer than the original theatrical cut. "Avengers: Endgame" had a runtime of around 181 minutes, while "Endgame Encore" runs for approximately 185 minutes. The new version also features a specially created introduction.

Marvel has positioned the added material as a narrative connection between "Endgame" and "Avengers: Doomsday". Joe Russo has previously described the new material as connecting the two films, with the filmmakers indicating that the re-release contains information relevant to the story audiences will see in the upcoming "Avengers" film.
The decision to expand "Endgame" comes as Marvel prepares for "Avengers: Doomsday", which reunites Joe and Anthony Russo with the franchise and brings together characters from across the MCU and its wider multiverse. Robert Downey Jr. is also returning to the Marvel universe in the new film, this time as Doctor Doom rather than Tony Stark.
For audiences returning to "Endgame", the main film remains the story released in 2019, but "Encore" adds material that was not part of the original theatrical version. The three post credits scenes are therefore likely to be of particular interest to viewers following the build-up to "Avengers: Doomsday", without requiring the details of those scenes to be revealed ahead of the theatrical release.
"Avengers Endgame: Encore" releases in Indian cinemas on September 25, giving audiences another theatrical run of the Infinity Saga finale before "Avengers: Doomsday" arrives worldwide on December 18, 2026.
