Speculations have been rife for the last few days that Anushka Sharma is the front runner to star opposite Telugu superstar Allu Arjun in his next film with Lokesh Kanagaraj. However, our sources have dismissed these reports, clarifying that there's no truth to the claims.
According to sources, Sharma, who has largely been missing from movies for the last eight years, is not returning to acting anytime soon. Sources clarify that she was not even approached for Allu Arjun's film, ruling out any possibility of her being in content. “The reports are untrue. Anushka has not signed any new project", the source told us.
Anushka was last seen alongside Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif in Aanand L. Rai's “Zero” in 2018. Since then she has maintained a low profile, staying away from movies and focusing on her personal life. She is currently based in London with her husband and kids and hasn't decided on coming back to films yet.

Meanwhile, Allu Arjun and Lokesh Kanagaraj's film, tentatively termed "#AA23", is scheduled to go on floors in the last quarter of this year. Produced by Mythri Movie Makers, with music by Anirudh Ravichander, the film is expected to be a large-scale action entertainer. The “Pushpa 2: The Rule” star will next be seen in Atlee's pan-India sci-fi tentpole, "A6xA22".
