Himesh Reshammiya has returned to “Indian Idol” as a judge after a three-year gap for the 17th edition of the popular singing reality show, which has the theme: “Legends Return.” In a major promotional first for the show's current run, stars Emraan Hashmi and Genelia Deshmukh will be appearing on set to promote their upcoming action-romance film, “Gunmaaster G9,” which hits theatres on November 27.

The reunion brings Reshammiya full circle with Hashmi, having previously voiced and composed the actor's biggest career chartbusters like "Aashiq Banaya Aapne," "Aap Ki Kashish," and "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa."

On the episode, being filmed over two days this week, Reshammiya will sing a medley of his numbers filmed on Hashmi. The contestants will also perform songs  picturized on the "Awarapan 2" actor. Reshammiya has composed and sung three songs for "Gunmaaster G9" namely "Afsaana Banaaya Aapne," with Asees Kaur, "Dard-e-Dil Dard-e-Jigar" with Akasa Singh, and a romantic track "Do Din Ki Zindagi" with Shreya Ghoshal and Vishal Mishra.

Fresh off the massive commercial success of “Awarapan 2,” which crossed the ₹200 crore mark globally, Emraan Hashmi returns to the screen in “Gunmaaster G9.” The film serves as a creative reunion for Hashmi and director Aditya Datt, who previously collaborated on the hit “Aashiq Banaya Aapne.” Packed with an emotional core, the plot follows Eeshwar's (Hashmi) intense journey to protect Aarti (Genelia Deshmukh). The action-drama features Aparshakti Khurana as the main villain and a prominent supporting performance by Avneet Kaur.

The episode airs sometime next week.
