Salman Khan On Negative AI-Generated Videos: ‘Those Who Knowingly Create Them Should Be Put Behind Bars’
Salman Khan recently shared his take on fake AI-generated videos at the “Weekend Ka Vaar” episode of “Bigg Boss 20.” Opening up about his experiences with the negative effects of artificial intelligence, Salman urged everyone to be careful of what they consume on social media.
He said, “Someone made an AI video, or did AI voice dubbing - that is wrong. AI has progressed so much that it's very scary. It's a very serious thing. You said something, and someone used AI to edit it and kisi ko gali bakdi. You know what they're doing? AI videos bana rahe hain yeh. Bahut saare logon ke (They are abusing people. Do you know what they're doing? They're making AI videos of so many people), and even I am there in the AI video."

The real challenge, according to the star, is that people who are unaware that the content is AI-generated may mistake it for something Salman actually said or did. “Now, people who don't know it is AI-generated content might post that Salman Khan was there. But those who know this reality and still created the video, what kind of people are they? Now those kinds of people should be put behind bars. Jab tak koi ek aadh, do aisa andar jaayega nahi na, tab tak yeh rukne wala hai nahi. (Until one or two of them go to prison, this will not stop) There has to be a law that needs to be passed, and there has to be censorship on social media,” he explained.
Speaking to Fatima Sana Shaikh, Zeeshan Ayyub and Raghubir Yadav, who were promoting their series “Hunkkaar” as a part of the recent episode, Salman further elaborated that AI seems too real and it is hard to differentiate between an AI-made and an authentic video. He explained, “Kabhi kabhi apne aap ko pehchaan nahi pata. Yeh kab tha. Aisi body kab thhi meri. Awaaz bhi wohi. (Sometimes I cannot recognize myself. When did this happen? When did I have a body like this?"

About his take on body-shaming, which he discussed at large in a previous episode, Salman also shared, “Baki logo ne alag route le liya - iske liye baat ki, uske liye baat ki. Usmein se 10 to 15 percent ne appreciate kiya. Dheere dheere ye awareness karke, you know, this whole game should change into a very positive [thing]. (Many took a different route. They assumed I spoke about this person or that person. But we should spread more awareness, and the entire game to turn into something positive).” Shaikh further quipped that it is important for someone as influential as Khan to address the issues in the society.
