SS Rajamouli On Collaborating With Suriya: ‘Whenever We Do A Film, It Is Going To Be Really Special’
SS Rajamouli, who is currently working on his upcoming release, “Varanasi,” starring Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Prithviraj Sukumaran is ready to address speculations about his possible collaboration with Suriya. At the recent pre-release event of Fahadh Faasil’s “Don’t Trouble The Trouble,” Rajamouli made it clear that he did not want discussions about their potential project to overshadow Faasil's film. However, he shared that the collaboration might be on the cards, and if it happens, it would be “really special.”
“I expected this question and came ready with the answer for it. Firstly, we came here to promote the film, Don't Trouble the Trouble. If I talk anything about me and Suriya, that will be the headline. Don't Trouble the Trouble will go into the sidelines,” he said at the event.

The filmmaker also teased that whenever he collaborates on a film, it would be a unique project. “Whenever we do a film, it is going to be really special,” Rajamouli added. Suriya, who was sitting in the front row at the event, smiled throughout the filmmaker’s stage interaction, while nodding to his revelation about the project being a special one.
Rajamouli’s comments also come amid continued interest around their reported collaboration. While the filmmaker chose not to discuss the details at the event, his response has once again drawn attention to the possibility of the two coming together for a project.

During the promotions of “Kanguva” in November 2024, Rajamouli had also called Suriya as one of his “main inspirations.” He recalled Suriya’s performance in the 2005 Tamil film “Ghajini” and praised him for transcending regional boundaries with his work.
