‘Dune: Part Three’ Runtime Revealed, Denis Villeneuve’s Final Instalment to Be Shortest Film in Trilogy
Denis Villeneuve’s “Dune: Part Three” is set to be the shortest film in his “Dune” trilogy. The Irish Film Classification Office has listed the upcoming film’s duration as 150 minutes and seven seconds, putting it at approximately two hours and 30 minutes.
The runtime places the third instalment below both films that preceded it. “Dune” (2021) ran for 155 minutes, while “Dune: Part Two” (2024) had a runtime of 166 minutes. The new film is therefore around five minutes shorter than the first instalment and nearly 16 minutes shorter than its immediate predecessor.
The figure also marks an update from the 140-minute runtime that appeared on IMAX listings when advance tickets first went on sale. The earlier listing had prompted speculation that Villeneuve’s final chapter would be considerably shorter than its predecessors. The latest classification puts the film at 150 minutes and seven seconds.

“Dune: Part Three” is scheduled to arrive in theatres on December 18, 2026, the same day as Marvel Studios’ “Avengers: Doomsday”.
