‘DeSu7’: Priyanka Sarkar Makes Cameo Appearance In Dev Adhikari, Subhashree Ganguly’s Action-Romance Film (EXCLUSIVE)
One of the most loved pairs of the Bengali film industry, Dev Adhikari and Subhashree Ganguly are coming up with “DeSu7” (working title) this Durga Puja. Dev Adhikari is directing this film, which is in the romance-action genre. Variety India learns that actress Priyanka Sarkar has filmed an important cameo for the movie. She completed her work last month. Sarkar’s last project, “Kuheli” had her in the role of a cop, DSP Agni Basu. “DeSu” also stars Anirban Bhattacharya along with Adhikari and Ganguly.

Adhikari began filming for “DeSu7” in May-end after the West Bengal elections. Today, the actor shared pictures with Subhashree Ganguly to celebrate the first anniversary of their 2025 release, “Dhumketu.” Kaushik Ganguly’s movie was initially supposed to release in 2016 but was on the backburner due to pending production issues. It became the highest-grossing Bengali movie of 2025. “Dhumketu” was the sixth film of Adhikari and Ganguly as a pair.
Adhikari in today’s Instagram post promised fans he would not let them down with his directorial debut. Ganguly had gone to show support for his new stint as a host on “Dadagiri Unlimited,” where Adhikari took over as the host from Sourav Ganguly.
Sarkar was in the news after the demise of her husband, actor Rahul Arunoday Banerjee on the sets of producer Leena Gangopadhyay’s TV show, “Bole Baba Par Karega”. He died due to drowning in the Talsari beach near Digha, West Bengal. The entire industry rallied behind her demanding better safety protocols for actors on sets of films and TV shows.
