Chiranjeevi’s ‘Kaaka’ Set for January 13, 2027 Release, First Single Coming Soon

Chiranjeevi’s "Kaaka" has officially locked its theatrical release date. KVN Productions confirmed on September 17 that the Bobby Kolli directorial will release worldwide on January 13, 2027, putting an end to speculation around the film’s Sankranthi release.
The production house shared the announcement on social media, confirming that "Kaaka" will arrive in cinemas during the Sankranthi 2027 window. The post also revealed that the film’s first single will be released soon, although an exact date for the song has not yet been announced.
The film, which was previously referred to as "Mega158", marks Chiranjeevi’s second collaboration with Kolli after "Waltair Veerayya". Their first film together released during the Sankranthi season in 2023 and emerged as a major theatrical success. "Kaaka" now brings the actor-director combination back to the festival corridor, with the makers positioning the new film for a January 13 worldwide release.

Chiranjeevi’s character in "Kaaka" was introduced as K Satyam in the first glimpse released with the film’s title announcement. The glimpse presented him as an aqua industry supervisor, initially establishing a relatively grounded world before hinting at a more action-heavy side to the character. The makers have so far kept the larger story and the nature of Satyam’s transformation under wraps.
The title "Kaaka" was unveiled in August, replacing the film’s earlier working title. The announcement also introduced a different visual world for the project, with the makers teasing Chiranjeevi in a character that appears to have contrasting facets.
Anaswara Rajan is part of the principal cast and plays Ammulu Paapa. The film also features Nivetha Pethuraj, with the makers yet to reveal the full extent of their characters and their roles in the story.
"Kaaka" is produced by Venkat K Narayana under KVN Productions, with the project marking the production house’s collaboration with Chiranjeevi and Bobby Kolli. The technical crew includes cinematographer Karthik Palani, while Niranjan Devaramane is credited as editor. More details about the film’s music and other members of the technical team are expected to emerge as the promotional campaign progresses.
With January 13 now confirmed, "Kaaka" becomes one of the Telugu releases lined up for the Sankranthi 2027 period. The festival remains a significant theatrical window for Telugu cinema, with several major films traditionally targeting the holiday frame.
