Box Office Weekend Winners: ‘Daayra’ and ‘Vibe’ Fail to Woo Audiences, ‘Hanuman Ansh’ Leads The Way
Despite the arrival of new releases like “Daayra” and “Vibe,” featuring known faces and A-listers, “Hanuman Ansh” remained the top pick for cinegoers, with the spiritual film registering strong occupancy even in its seventh weekend. While the Hollywood horror flick “Resident Evil” has registered decent numbers, “Bethlehem Kudumba Unit” continued to attract footfalls in its limited shows and screenings.
‘Hanuman Ansh’: A Box Office Phenomenon
A small spiritual film made on a modest ₹2 crore budget is already the third-highest Hindi grosser of the year and refuses to slow down at the ticket windows. It raked in ₹28.50 crore in its seventh weekend and currently stands at ₹271.88 crore.
‘Daayra’ and ‘Vibe’ Struggle
Two prominent new Hindi releases, “Daayra” and “Vibe,” failed to find an audience at the ticket windows. While Kareena Kapoor Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran’s investigative thriller collected a mere ₹4.50 crore in its opening weekend, the Kunal Kemmu-starrer performed comparatively better by raking in ₹7.45 crore.

The horror film, which has strong franchise value in international markets, registered decent numbers in India. However, it performed better than “Daayra” and “Vibe” by raking in ₹9.50 crore.
